Bibliography of Writing Blogs

In honor of Pitch Wars this year, I wanted to do a quick round up of some of my favorite how-to blogs about writing. Most are written by me or my Pitch Wars co-mentor, Katie Golding, but there are also some links to blogs I have found helpful that were written by others. Feel free to browse whatever topics interest you!

And if you didn’t find one on a topic you were hoping for, hit me up on Twitter at @michellehazen. As a book coach, I have an insane stockpile of writing related blog links that I have pre-screened for usefulness, so if you ask me for a certain topic, I might just have something!

Katie’s Hilarious Punctuation Series:

This covers punctuating dialogue (which is the most common error I see as an editor), as well as the ever-slippery em dash and semi-colon. And last but not least, the king, queen, and pawn of all punctuation: the comma. I did not know it was possible to make learning punctuation fun, but Katie did it. She also has a knack for explaining punctuation rules so they actually make sense and stick in your head, so you don’t have to google them another thousand times. It’s truly a gift.
